It has been a while since I last posted anything- life's busyness gets in the way.
I hope to change that though. So starting from today I aim to post every other day.
So what inspires me today and most days- travel.
I have just returned from a 3-week trip to Spain and Morocco and while I am so glad to be home, reunited with the kids, I yearn for exciting new experiences I get from travelling.
I mean, just look at the things I get to see, touch, hear....
But beyond all these most beautiful sights, I believe travel changes you. It is as Miriam Beard once said, “Travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living.”
I wonder where my next escapades will take me......

Inspired to Study
I am finding it hard at the moment to resist staying in bed, under all the warm blankets and pull out Murakami's 1Q84 and read all day. So I ventured around the house to find a warm spot to do some work as well as indulge in some 'me' time.
And I have found it! The covered alfresco- my new favourite PhDing/pleasure reading/facebooking/indulging in hubby's fine lattes nook, with the sunlight filtering in to warm me up!

I want to share with you my other love: photography. Yes I am very much an amateur and have yet to perfect this wonderful art form, but I think I am getting there. What do I take photos of: anything which leaves me breathless. Like this one:
I took this photo of Indonesian dancer, Ms Neng, the other week at the International Woman's Day Celebrations. She was absolutely stunning and I was left mesmerised by her every move.
Another favourite photo of mine is of a market archway in Aleppo, Syria. My heart bleeds for the people of Syria and every time I look at this photo (which I have framed on my wall), I am reminded how I was fortunate enough to experience this beautiful place just that once.
If you haven't used your camera in a while, dust if off right now. You may be surprised what you have managed to capture. Enjoy clicking away folks!

Let's start with love
Hello friends. Welcome to my world where I celebrate all things beautiful- things, moments, photos which inspire me and which make my heart sing.
And I want to start with one of my favourite Persian poet- the celebrated Hafiz:
"Your love should never be offered to the mouth of a stranger ...
Only to someone who has the valor ...
And daring to cut pieces of their soul off with a knife ...
Then weave them into a blanket ...
To protect you"
